On November 25th, Rangeen Khidki Foundation hosted Rang Saga, an event at Offbeat CCU, focusing on Adolescent-Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (AY-SRHR). SPRIHA SOCIETY was honored to contribute to this meaningful initiative, raising awareness about menstrual health, menstrual hygiene management (MHM), and comprehensive sexual education (CSE).
The Importance of Adolescent-Youth SRHR
Access to accurate sexual and reproductive health (SRH) information is crucial for adolescents and young people. However, stigma, misinformation, and cultural taboos often hinder their ability to make informed decisions. Through this collaboration, we aimed to normalize discussions around sexual and reproductive rights, ensuring that young individuals receive the knowledge and support they need.

Our Key Contributions at Rang Saga

Spriha Society actively engaged in discussions surrounding two crucial aspects of Adolescent-Youth SRHR:

Menstrual Health & Hygiene Awareness

Menstruation remains a stigmatized and misunderstood topic. At Rang Saga, we focused on:

-
Dispelling menstrual health myths that contribute to misinformation.
-
Promoting menstrual hygiene management (MHM) and sustainable menstrual products.
-
Encouraging open dialogue to foster a more inclusive approach to menstrual health education.

Comprehensive Sexual Education (CSE) for Adolescents

A lack of scientifically accurate, age-appropriate sexual education limits young people's ability to understand their bodies, relationships, and rights. Our discussions at Rang Saga included:

-
Debunking common myths and misconceptions about reproductive health.
-
Highlighting the importance of inclusive, intersectional sexual education in schools and communities.
-
Advocating for youth-friendly SRHR policies that prioritize informed decision-making.
Join the Movement for SRHR Awareness!
At SPRIHA SOCIETY, we are focused on helping adolescents and young people get accurate and stigma-free education about sexual and reproductive health. We promote open discussions, push for better policies, and provide important resources. We aim to break down barriers and empower youth with the knowledge they need to make smart choices about their health and well-being.
